Group Tours

Guided tours of the Benicia Historical Museum are a great way to spend an afternoon in Benicia!

All tours include the main Museum Gallery featuring artifacts and storyboards: from the Native Patwin tribes of Solano County, the founding of Benicia, California Statehood, The Benicia Arsenal, Industrialization, to the arts in Benicia.

Tours during museum hours (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday) can be booked for groups of 8 or more people.  Tours can also be
scheduled outside Museum hours, Tuesdays through Fridays between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Please note: There is limited availability for guided tours on weekends and in the month of December.

Please allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours for your Museum tour. The Museum is handicap accessible.

If your group is interested in visiting the Powder Magazine, allow another 1/2 hour.  The Powder Magazine is located about a quarter mile from the Museum.  The Powder Magazine is not handicap accessible.

If your group is interested in visiting the Industrial Exhibit please allow an additional 1/2 hour.  The Industrial Exhibit is on the same level as the lower Museum entrance and Museum Office.  The Industrial Exhibit is handicap accessible.

We look forward to your group's visit to the Benicia Historical Museum. The docent led tour of the Museum will last one hour to an hour and thirty minutes.

A tour of the Industrial Exhibit is available upon request. Please allow an extra 30 minutes to view the Industrial Exhibit. This exhibit is located on the same level as the lower parking lot and Museum Office, and is handicap accessible.

The Military Powder Magazine may also be included with advanced notice. It will add an additional 30 minutes to the tour. This building is about a quarter mile from the main Museum and can be accessed by a mini-bus, automobile or on foot. Please note: The only access into the building is by stairs.

The cost for the tour is $7.00 per visitor.
