You are cordially invited to attend the first screening of A City Named Benicia, a new documentary directed and produced by Sam Chohan, local resident and historian. Come learn the “back story” of Spain’s exploration and colonization of California, the tragic consequences for Native Americans, the formation of an independent Mexican state, Gold Rush immigration to Northern California, and Benicia’s role as a key player in early California History.
